We go back to the time of Tokyo Olympics, July- August2021

Mirabai Chanu opened India’s medal account on the very first day of the competition with a silver medal in women’s 49 kg weightlifting. India was elated that we won a medal on the very first day. Congratulations poured in. However, as the Olympics progressed, there were more sighs than elation. When PV Sindhu could not make it to the finals, a collective grief struck the nation which quickly turned to joy as she could bring in a bronze the very next day. However, till the last day Indians were still a bit dissatisfied. A nation of 140 cr Indians were still looking for gold. And that momename on the very last day in the form of Neeraj Chopra.A small group of us who were intensely following India’s show at the Olympics were in two minds. Should we celebrate a tally of a total 7 medals which was more than what most Indians expected or should we be concerned that India could only finish 48th among participating nations?

Our concern

We Indians love sports but hardy play.  India’s collective sports energy is too fragmented, too thinly spread to make any impact. True, there is progress on several counts but only very little

Our Vision

And it is our vision at Athlesters to participate in that growth story. And in that process, if we can help a few young Indians realise their sports dreams of a podium finish, we would be happy souls.

Our Platform

We at Athlesters want to do our bit by creating platforms that channelize the sports appetite of Indians at large. And our Platforms are constantly evolving.
